Who can apply?

Emerging and early-career scholars, postdoctoral researchers, visiting scholars, and interdisciplinary practitioners whose work advances future-oriented design research may apply.

What is the application deadline?

The 2026 application deadline is May 31, 2026.

What materials are required?

A curriculum vitae, research proposal, personal statement, two representative works, host affiliation evidence, and two referees are required.

Does the applicant need a confirmed host institution?

Applicants should have obtained, or be in the process of applying for, a relevant host affiliation or comparable academic arrangement.

What is the fellowship support range?

The indicative total support package may be structured within USD 80,000 to USD 120,000, subject to final assessment and award terms.

Is the support amount guaranteed?

No. The published range is indicative and remains subject to the research plan, host requirements, administrative review, funding assessment, and final award terms.

Does the fellowship create employment?

No. Fellowship support does not create an employment, consulting, service, procurement, or research-deliverable relationship with Asia Design Week.

Who owns the research outputs?

ADW does not claim ownership of research outputs generated through the host environment and does not restrict academic publication or dissemination.

How are applications reviewed?

Applications go through eligibility review, expert review, possible shortlist interviews, conflict-of-interest disclosure, final deliberation, admission notice, and administrative review.

When will selected scholars be announced?

The admission notice of selected scholars is scheduled for late June 2026.
